Ice Break 2013
June 6-12
Reykjavik, Iceland
Ice Break 2013

We continue a tradition started in 1992 to gather experts and students in cryptology in the Nordic countries.

We welcome you to a six-day (PhD) course with emphasis on symmetric cryptography and with world-class lecturers.

A limited number of stipends is available to PhD and Master's students who are not able to get funding elsewhere.

The course is equivalent to 5 ECTS credit points.

Reykjavik University, Menntavegur 1, 101 Reykjavik. The registration desk is at the main entrance of the university building, the lecture room will be M104 on the ground floor.

Reaching the conference venue by public transportation:
The bus system of Reykjavik (also known as Straeto) is quite reliable and punctual. The fare is 350 ISK per person per ride, drivers don't have change. If you arrive at the BSI terminal station you need to take line number 19 and walk one minute after exiting at the university bus stop.
There are other bus terminals in the city, they are useful when you stay in Hotels like city-center Fron: Hlemmur and Laekjartorg.
The best terminal to reach the university from the center is Hlemmur, a short walk along the street "Lauaveur" from the center. From the Hlemmur terminal. you can take line 19 which will take you to the university directly in about 9 minutes (8 minutes of bus travel, plus 1 min walking). Busses depart every 30 minutes, and a suitable departure to reach the venue on time would be 08.01am. Note that on Saturday, schedule is different, and the first departure time is 08.16am.
If you are closer to Laekjartorg station then you can take line number 3, exit at the BSI bus stop and change to line number 19, walking the remaining one minute after exiting at the university bus stop.

Registration is closed. Due to generous sponsors, we will not charge registration fees. Coffee breaks, lunches, and the Saturday dinner as was as an excursion on Sunday are included. However we limit the number of attendees to 50, and ask for a 150EUR fee in case of a no-show.
